Below are the departmental learning goals mapped to College-wide goals for student learning.

1. Learning and Knowledge
   
   1. Acquire knowledge about human society through the study of sociology and related disciplines. (Ia, Ib, Ic) 
   2. Understand core sociological concepts including social structure, social inequality, socialization, social norms, social roles, social identities, social institutions, social theory, social research.  (Ib iii a)

2. Intellectual Skills and Practice
   1. Use sociological imagination; understand the intersection of biography and history in one’s life and across diverse circumstances and identities. (Ia, Ib, Ic, IIa, IIIa, 希望)
